dang, i almost missed the celebration! Congtats dodles, kelly, david, brinat and hunter on making through heck week!! we're doing it...YAY US!! i have to tell you...i had a very big test today. i was at work and the shift mgr wanted to talk to me so she said for us to go outside. as soon as we got there she pulls out a pack and asked me if i wanted one. i said 'no' that i'm going to stay quit this time. i stood there and talked with her while she smoked. i can honestly say that i wasn't envious of her at all. i was so proud of myself. this might very well be a turning point especially since i was thinking about my past quits and caving after two weeks. isn't it ironic how things turn out. Congrads to you all, I remember week three well. It was day 20 of my quit that I felt the first relief. It was like turning a corner and seeing light. I have 67days now and I still guard my quit. This is a long trip and I want to be free. At first I wasn't sure it would get better, now I know it does. Doodles and company, First off, congrats on completing two weeks smoke free! The third week is often referred to as blah week. Marked by feelings of fatigue and frustration. Some experience it, some do not. If you do, be kind to yourself and reward yourself often. Many start to feel more comfortable in their quits and withdrawal symptoms begin to fade. Good luck! Having just completed week three I can offer some encouragement, It's a bit easier now and the shock of stopping is wearing off. Still a few odd symptoms, I got up just before 4 am this morning. I'm an early riser but not this early and not on Sunday *grumbles* My Milage: My Quit Date: 8/17/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 23 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 552 Amount Saved: $96.60 Life Gained: Days: 4 Hrs: 3 Mins: 53 Seconds: 17

That's what I was going to say, Lainey...after the first few weeks you begin to really see the associations with smoking you've made in more detail. I remember doing yard work and all of a sudden wanting a cig. I thought, "Oh yeah, that's right. I used to take cig breaks doing this." So, I went inside and made myself a yummy glass of iced tea. Soooooo much more refreshing than a cig. I did that a few more times, and guess what? Now I don't associate smoking with doing yard work any more. There are just hunderds of those associations. Sometimes they catch you by surprise. I remember talking to another member one time who was craving bigtime after a few weeks quit. We finally figured out she was reacting to her "bedtime cig" not being there. Once she was aware of what it was and replaced it with something else, she was fine. it's kind of fun, actually, figuring out what the association is that is making the urge or thought appear. And then replacing it with something else, if need be. Often just knowing what it's about is enough. You Six Mustquiteers will do fine. I'd love to hear about some of these realizations as they come along...just cause i am always so curious. -aloha My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/22/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 171 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 6,840 Amount Saved: $1,162.80 Life Gained: Days: 23 Hrs: 20 Mins: 14 Seconds: 46

Congrats all! On to week 3! The first few weeks you have a constant longing, at least it feels constant. Thats gonna start to disappear a little each day from now on. Some faster than others of course, but know that it is going to get better and you will 'forget' about smoking here & there and surprise yourself. Or you will come across a time when you would have smoked and you will have a thought like "oh I would have smoked at this time" instead of a craving. These are some of the things you will notice in the next while. Keep on keeping on! NOPE! :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/5/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 188 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 4,700 Amount Saved: $1,983.40 Life Gained: Days: 22 Hrs: 22 Mins: 35 Seconds: 13
