thanks to both of you for your replies :) i'm going to look into it in the new year. fortunately my panic has subsided for now (which is amazing with the amount of stress i'm going through with xmas), but i've worked really hard at it. i hope it lasts for a bit longer. thanks again for your support.

Hi. Actually call your insurance company and tell them that you would like to see a therapist. They will verbally give you names in which your insurance covers (you probably will have a copay) or they can fax the list to you. Any more question please feel free to contact me through here. Good luck!

minnie, You might want to try and find a doctor first. They will also be able to refer you to therapists or programmes in your area. Check your directories or white pages for some clinic information as well. Hope this helps, Josie ______________________________ The Panic Center Support Team.

hi again, i have come to the decision that i would like to see someone to help with my anxiety. as i've posted previously, i am an english person in america. i feel very isolated - i haven't made many friends. i think it will get better once i start learning to drive - i will be able to get out and about more. however, i think in the meantime, i need some help and i need someone i can talk to, without feeling like i am burdoning my family. i'd also like to take a stab at cognative therapy. anyway, i need some advice. i don't know how the system works here regarding referrals, etc. i am insured and have fairly good medical insurance. how do i go about getting a therapist through the insurance? do i need to see my regular doctor first? if someone could let me know, that'd be great. oh, also, where would i find a good therapist? i'd like someone who specialises in anxiety.
