Cymbalta?

Hi Someone I am sorry about this, but somewhere in you there is a sense of humour. Look at your last sentence! I really had a good chuckle. I really hope this will work for you. Hang in there and use that sense of humour to brighten up your own day. I am sure you are a very nice person, work on the anger, turn it into something positive. Good luck.

I'm a newbie here. I just started Cymbalta myself [60mg] because of unending weight gain with Effexor-- 30lbs in 1 year. Also, I seemed to have developed a tolerance to Effexor. As I get older my depression - - if that's what it really is- - manifests more an more as anger/rage, and the Effexor was doing no good. Hope this stuff works; I'll take peace over sex any day.... This med is pretty new-- only approved last September. If this doesn't work, I'll volunteer for a brain transplant.

I just started taking Cymbalta yesterday. My doctor is starting me on 30mg. for the first week and going to 60mg. beginning the second week. He said it is better to start at this level because of the nausea some people experience when they first start taking it. Has anybody experienced the nausea or any other side effects ?

I have been taking cymbalta for about 3 months and it seems to be working for me. My Dr. did also add another medication Lamictal, because when I was supposed to start my period or even if I didn't (I am going through peri-menopause as well) I would have very bad mood swings: crying, angry at the world and myself, not able to feel joy at all, etc. I felt a difference within two days of taking the lamictal--I didn't feel like I was on a roller coaster of feelings. Hope that helps.
