Am I Going crazy? Relates to post below....

I used to be very afraid of losing my mind too. Just think about something. "A person that is going crazy doesn't know that he/she is going crazy". you are too aware of everything to be going crazy. Somebody wrote to you already that a good thing is to change your job and I think it is absolutely right.

Thanks for your reply....I did quit that job considering it sent me into a tailspin of anxiety. The tough part now is convincing myself that I will not become schizophrenic!!! Scary to think about!

No that isn€™t going to happen but the panic will make you think it is possible. A lot of us feel like we are going crazy when we have panic attacks. But I still think working under different conditions would probably be better for you until you get it under control. It€™s hard not to think about it when you are faced with it every day.

Hi, all! This is my first post on this board, and I just love the things I'm reading on here...sounds like I'm listening to myself!!!! Here is my current thought/fear. About a month ago, I was working at a mental health association working with individuals with shizophrenia. Well, needless to say, after 2 whole years panic and anxiety free (for the most part)...BAM! It hit me super hard once we learned about that specific mental illness. Since then, I quit that job because my mind keeps thinking that because I have panic and anxiety, that I will, too, become schizophrenic. Is this possible? Is it possible to drive your mind to such a severe mental condition? I'm so terrified that this will happen to me!!! My therapist says it won't, but you know how it is when you have anxiety...constant reassurance, and I'd really love some input on this subject from people who are standing in my shoes. Can anyone help me? Thanks to all of you, Lisa
