Don't get discouraged! Hell week will be over before you know it and you'll look back and be so proud of yourself for not giving into that temptation. We're all here for you and pulling for you that you keep your quit. The health benefits of quitting smoking so much out way the need to have nicotine. I promise you it WILL get easier. :)

Hang in there Mom! Encourage your Hubby and help him get thru the day too, chew on stir stix, coffee straws, I used to suck on a straw. Much on licorice or caroot sticks, do whatever works. Spend as much time as you can here reading posts. There is a lot of help here.
The first few days are the worst and it gets better every day after that. You'll feel sleepy and woozy and tired, but thats OK, you are recovering from an addiction and you should pamper yourself. In a few days you will be able to breath fully again, your complextion will look so much clearer and more pink, you won't get sick as often and when you do, colds won't last as long, or be as strong, the benefits as so worth the work.
Take it one day at a time, or even one hour at a time, it is so worth it. Smoking was killing you, and you can save your own life, by quitting!
Hang out here, and tell Hubby about this place too, nicotine is a nasty, addictive drug, whether smoked or chewed. Think of all the cash you two will save! Keep on quitting, you can do it!

Hello there,

Welcome to the SSC, you have come to an excellent place! Week 1 can be difficult but stay focused, work on the online program and make this quit stick!

You are now a part of a community of people all going through similar experiences, ask questions, reach out and post often!

Do not let that fear come true! Stay strong and make the choice to stay smoke-free! Fight each craving one at a time and when you do get a craving just keep reminded yourself why you are quitting. Talk to yourself, pump yourself up and smile knowing what a great gift you are giving to your body.

Here for you,

Serenity

I woke up this morning and forgot that I was quitting.  Luckily I have nothing to smoke.  My fear for the day is that my hubby that is trying to quit chewing is not going to make it and that I will end up needing to go get his tobacco and will give in and get mine too.  I have done that so many times before.  I am fearful right now and am not handling it well right now.  Day 1 of hell week begins and I want it to end already!
