Sounds like you killed that thing dead! Seems like a good symbolic act in terms of resisting temptation when it arises. Maybe you can keep that image of destroying the cigarette in mind when you feel tempted in the future.

Dear Sparky,

That was a great response...drowning the cig!........I love the idea of recording your cough!  That must be a good way of reminding yourself why you are quitting.

" I sure could have come up with some lame excuse,"  that is what we need to think when we get these negative thoughts.  You are doing this my good friend, you are a non-smoker!....keep at it!  I'm right behind you all the way.

Love Lolly.

I was sweeping my kitchen floor this morning and found a cigarette.  I guess when I threw them out one must have fallen out and rolled under my oven drawer.  I don't know why when I quit I always find cigarettes.  I ran it under water and then tore it apart.  Today has been somewhat stressful and I sure could have come up with some lame excuse, but I didn't need to because I am a non smoker .  Getting these days behind me makes me want to stay moving forward.

The one thing I did different from my other quits is I recorded my cough so when the thought comes to mind I listen to it.

Keep the Quit
Sparky
