Well Working on it I am very thankful that you are "Truly and Totally here "
I was very moved by your story and the courage you had to live and share it with us.
My quit has been very simple in comparison to many here and the extra inner strength you and others have
needed has given me more strength knowing I do not have as big a battle so I can not fail.
They say there is a reason for everything and every action has a reaction.
I hope you reflect back on your writings and sharing here and see how many positive
reactions you will have set in motion.
Again Thanks and congrats again on your well earned 1 year .

Hi,

Thank you all for the positive feedback.

As for the writing process...Yes, it turned out to be a bit more painful and difficult than I had anticipated. I was really intensely triggered to smoke at one point (after a long crying episode that seemed like it wouldn't end). I chose to just go to bed and let the story rest for a while instead. I am glad I did it, though. Helped me to address some old demons and extinguish some old triggers.

Machiavelli,
That was especially meaningful to me that you read through it and understood.

Thanks for posting Working on It!

It really does sound like this has been a transformational experience. How did you find writing it all out? How did it help?

Working On It   This must have been hard for you to write. Pain shared is pain halved the way I see it. Thank you for sharing this with us. I think the secret of longevity in recovery over our addictions is happiness. Happiness is an inside job. Spring is here and everything is new again. Congratulations on your one year. It seems that you've grown a lot this past year. Excellent for you Working On It.  breather Don

I read your story cover to cover; it is a master piece in recognition, discovery of true self and a declaration of freedom.  I would like to congratulate you on your one year quit.  You are correct in that you do have a choice to enjoy the benefits of not smoking and I wish you success in your quest for life.

Kindest

As I mentioned a while back, I wrote a story to coincide with May 8th.

Please be advised that my story contains some mildly graphic descriptions of violence and some possibly controversial points of view. It is not intended to offend or provoke debate. It is simply a description of my perceptions and experiences.

I decided to go with a blog format, which is something I have never tried before. Here is the link. The entry is dated May 8, 2013. http://crazybeligaana.blogspot.com/
