Beautiful!

You sound so strong Mamma D. What's it  like to say, "NOT THIS TIME" and mean it?

Hi Momma D,

You are doing so well and with an inspiring attitude to your quit!  At this rate you will be counting your quit in months then years before you know it.

I'm so happy for you that you are feeling the benefits so much and so soon.  Believe it or not, it will get even better as time goes on, and the Nicodemon on your shoulder will become weaker and weaker. Congratulations!  Hope you have small rewards ready for each stage!

Whatever it takes, just don't smoke!

Love Lolly.

Hey MommaD! you just hit 21 days, according to your meter as I'm typing now. Congrats on hitting the three week mark. And congrats on feeling better, too. You've just barely started feeling better, by the way. My lung power continued to improve for w while after I quit. (Might even still be improving, but more gradually.)

I feel soooooo much better since I've stopped smoking.  I am now one of those who hates the smell of smoke.  It is such a good feeling not to worry about how much I stink with that smell and people giving me nasty looks.  My breathing is deeper, I am not wheezing, not coughing throughout the night or while on the phone telling people I just have a tickle in my throat.  Many of my friends and some family members did not know I had resumed smoking after 3 yrs free and would have been very angry and disappointed.  I don't have to hide from them or sneak smoking anymore.  It is so freeing.  I just want to take one day at a time and continue feeling better.  My cravings come at such weird times.,  I can not even be thinking or feeling withdrawal but walk into a room with no one in it and see a pack of cigs and instantly want to to just grab one and go hide somewhere to smoke it.  The Nico demon pops up then and says "go ahead no one will see me".  I find that so strange but have learned to laugh at that demon and tell him NO WAY...NOT THIS TIME.  I try to stay amongst my no smoking relatives and friends and tell myself that I am also a non-smoker.  When I get stressed out I think about their issues and how they get just as anxious, angry, upset, happy, whatever but don't smoke through it.  I find straws and gum help and drinking water as much as I can.  I also talk to myself allot sometimes even out loud.  Coming here and sharing my thoughts and feelings is an incredible lift of mind and spirit.  Thanks to all
