six days completed.  Saturday was abit tough.  A long day, needs activities to keep it full.  Sitting infront of the computer or TV just doesn't cut it.  Sleep is getting better and better. Today will be another bright sunny day and lots to do.

Gordo,

Well done on getting to day 5!  Good for you using the tools and getting through the urge.  Each success will build your strength!

Way to go, Gordo! It's not easy to ignore those urges! Every day gets easier, apparently, so we have to hang in there. Good for you for working through the temptation. I live in Ontario and they don't sell alcohol in grocery stores, thank goodness! It must have been tough for you to walk past the wine and not put it in the card. Way! To! Go!!!!!! Stay strong!

Punkin..here's what happened today with me...

On the way home I had a terrible urge to drink.  I went into the bargaining stage saying "well it's only one night..I can start again tomorrow. No harm in falling off the wagon one night"  "I'll just get wine and not whiskey..ya that will be sort of ok...

I recalled some of the tools...did some deep breathing..started planning my route and what I was going to do at home...Stopped at the grocery store..walked right past the wine..got home..got busy...now after having had something to eat and a green tea..urge has gone..

Thank goodness

Punkin I found being scared of the unknown is a natural feeling. I just could not image life without the bottle.  This is a great site. Lots of good ideas and support. Like this.  You have my support.

If everyone knows you are an alcoholic including you it sounds like you've already admitted it.  Take a deep breath.  It is scary but not insurmountable. Small steps.  Imagine one day without drinking.  Set it up like you are planning a vacation.  Make an itinerary for the day. Let loved ones know what you are doing; you may be surprised at how they may want to help.

When yo do get one day without drinking, congratulate yourself.  You just proved you can do it and look forward to the next vacation day away from Alcohol.

Let me know how it went, I know you can do it.
